Book Review: Vegetarian Pleasures

"When it comes to preparing a vegetarian meal, the entree is the
biggest challenge..."

When I first became a vegetarian, one of the first cookbooks I
bought was Jeanne Lemlin's Main Course Vegetarian
Pleasures
. I
regularly refer to the book often when I want some
inspiration to make a simple
meal that tastes good.

The book has 125 recipes ranging from Autumn Vegetable Soup and
Zucchini and Potato Panckaes.

Lemlin writes recipes along with the stories if what inspired
her to make the meal, what she likes about the ingredients or even what
might
work well in place of some of the ingredients suggested in the
recipe.

Main Course Vegetarian Recipes is a great book for
someone who is just starting down the vegetarian path and a good resource
for
someone who wants an occasional boost of excitement in their meal
planning.

The recipes are tasty (I've tried most of them over the years).
They don't require a lot of fancy ingredients. Most of the recipes don't
require
a lot of culinary skill. No matter what your skill level you'll find
something
in this cookbook that you can make that will taste great and
impress your
friends.

Main Course Vegetarian Pleasures is published by
William Morrow Cookbooks. $18.95
