Book Review: Vegan in 30 Days - Get Healthy. Save the World

I had no problem switching from being an omnivore. The next natural step, one would suppose, would be to move to a vegan lifestyle.
With that in mind, I read Vegan in 30 Days – Get Healthy. Save the World by Sarah Taylor.
Veganism allows us to truly connect with all creatures. We would never eat anything that had once been alive or that had been taken from a living being. I really believe that vegan choices are some of the most personal, practical and ethical choices one can make.
Taylor’s book offers a step-by-step guide that helps one take the step from an omnivorous diet to a truly vegan one. Even with a guide, one has to be willing to stay on the path to reach the final destination.
It is certainly not Taylor’s fault that I still eat cheese, that I still eat eggs, that I still choose honey as a sweetener, that I believe I will still be eating ice cream as an old woman.
Vegan in 30 Days is the perfect book for someone who is committed to changing their eating habits and to making the world a better place for all living creatures.
By providing a new goal for a full month, this book provides solid, well-researched advice on how to safely make the vegan transition by eating healthful, nutritious food and by making small, thoughtful choices every day.
Being vegan really is that…thinking carefully about every morsel that goes into your mouth. You just have to be willing to make those choices.
It includes dozens of practical tips to help readers meet their goals and more than two dozen of the author’s favorite, easy recipes.
The recipes are good and easy to make. From Green Smoothies to Ceviche there are all kinds of recipes to move you along the path…or just to vary up your vegetarian choices.
After reading Vegan in 30 Days, I am thinking more about what I eat. I believe I might be able to be vegan for 30 days. I just don’t think I’m ready to make a lifetime commitment to the choice.
If you have made the decision to make the change in lifestyle, grab this book and read it. You will make the change with Taylor’s resources, advice, tips and recipes.
If you want to make more conscious choices in your diet, grab this book and read it. You will think more carefully about what you are eating. If nothing else, you will eat more thoughtfully.
Vegan in 30 Days is published by Taylor Publications and marketed by The Book Publishing Company (http://www.bookpubco.com/). It costs $14.95.
