Dump the name, but make this cake
This may be the easiest recipe I have ever made. Back when I was learning how to cook, a friend of mine gave me a "foolproof" recipe for a cake that looked like it was a lot of work but which really took no work at all.
It was, she told me, a "dump cake". Now, who came up with that name? Who would call anything that one eats "dump"? This is not a a pretty cake. It's not the one you want to make for fancy company, but your less refined friends will love this one,
I choose not to use the "dump" name, but I have no problem using or sharing the recipe.
In little more than half an hour, including prep time, you can be enjoying this delicious cake. It's a messy, ooey, gooey cake, so if you're going to cheat on your diet, this would be the dessert with which to do it.
Chocolate Cherry Ooey Gooey Cake
2 cans of cherry pie filling
1 box of chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup of butter, melted
- Layer all the ingredients in a 9 by 13 inch pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minute.
Vegetarian.
