Wrap and roll with a bite

I'm trying to take break from too much bread. It is my total downfall when it comes to my diet.
So I have switched to wraps...sandwich fillings wrapped in a tortilla. Usually, I use whole wheat or flavored wraps, but sometimes, I use plain old flour tortillas if the filling is tasty enough to carry the dish on its own.
Flour tortillas are a low-fat food and contain iron along with other B vitamins. They have about 115 calories with 2 to 3 grams of fat per serving.
An average serving contains about 60 calories and only 1 gram of fat. Tortillas are very low in cholesterol. They are also a good source of thiamin.
Recently, I won a sampling of jams and jellies in a contest. One was a Balsamic Red Pepper Jam, which is delicious. I decided to give it a try in a wrap for dinner and I beieve it was a great choice.
Cheesy Red Pepper Jam Wrap
2 tablespoon of cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon of Balsamic Red Pepper Jam
2 slices of swiss cheese
1 flour tortilla
  • Mix the cream cheese and jam.
  • Spread the mixture over the whole surface of the tortilla.
  • Lay the cheese in the middle of the tortilla.
  • Roll up the tortilla, burrito style.
  • Broil long enough to melt the cheese.
  • Cut into rounds.

Vegetarian.
