We're back.

It's been some time (don't look and do any calculations...suffice to say, we've gone way too long without being here for you) since I've posted on here.
But, lately, there have been some people who have been asking for advice and recipes...and I remembered how much fun we had together back in the day, doing this thing. So here we are...
I revamped the look. I'm working out some of the kinks. I'm trying to remember coding secrets.
In the meantime, I'm cooking on the cheap and trying out recipes.
The world is quarantined right now. We're all living the lockdown life, so let's make the best of it and stay healthy and happy.
I am, technically, a pescatarian because I occasionally have some fish...I lived on a boat for a few years while I was on hiatus so fish kinda crept onto the menu. About 98% of the time I eat plant based.
I don't eat pretend meat and rarely include things like textured vegetable protein (TVP) or seitan in my recipes, but if there's a good recipe that I stumble across that includes these, I'll share it for those who want that option.
I am not a radical vegetarian who bashes those who eat meat. I eat plant based foods. My husband and all of my children and many of my friends are omnivores. I am not going to trash them...though I'm not opposed to poking fun at them.
I am a vegetarian because I want to avoid health issues like heart disease, obesity, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and certain cognitive disorders. I have battled with some of these issues and still do with some. (You see, sugar is a plant...bread is vegetarian, I'll eat that...etc.) But, I'm working on it.
You are welcome here even if you are a steak and potato kind of eater. Maybe you'd like to add a little veg on the side and that's why we're here. My husband is not a fan of veggies but he eats a heck of a lot more than he used to.
That's the key. Add some plant based foods to your diet until you start enjoying what's good for you.
There are about 1800 of you following on Facebook so come on over here as well. Tell your friends to join us here as well!
Welcome aboard, y'all. Let's have some fun and eat cheaply and well!
